Recently, the Minister of Information and Communications signed and issued Circular 20/2019/TT-BTTTT stipulating the National Technical Standards on the installation of peripheral telecommunication cable networks.

According to the provisions of the National Technical Regulation on the installation of peripheral telecommunications cable networks (QCVN 33:2019/BTTTT) issued together with Circular 20/2019/TT-BTTTT, telecommunications cables are only allowed to be suspended on cable poles systems that have been permitted for construction by the competent authority and with the consent of the managing unit of the cable pole route; and must comply with local regulations on areas and routes where cables are permitted to be suspended.
In addition, when suspending 02 or more cables on one route of poles on main city roads, district-level town roads, or commune-level town roads, the managing unit of the cable pole route or the cable owner must equip the cable suspension system and cable bundle supports.
Moreover, aerial cables (Telecommunications cables designed for installation on pole routes and other supporting structures) must fully meet the requirements listed in this Regulation as follows:
- The cable is designed for suspension.- The aerial cable must be calculated ensuring safety in terms of pole structure, distance from other structures, and the distance between poles.- For other types of cables without supporting structures, suspension is only allowed when: adding a suspension cable or suspending in routes already equipped with suspension cables and cable bundle supports, and having all the necessary suspension and stay accessories that meet the technical design requirements.
