To be specific, Clause 3, Article 4 of Decree 111/2018/ND-CP stipulates that anniversary ceremonies will only be organized on round-year anniversaries, while in other years, anniversary ceremonies will not be held. Instead, activities such as publicity, competitions, seminars, and other practical activities will be organized to commemorate establishment and traditional days.
Accordingly, Decree 111 stipulates that a round year is a year ending in “0,” and this year marks the 37th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2019). Therefore, Vietnamese Teachers' Day 2019 will not have an anniversary ceremony.
To implement the above, several Departments of Education and Training in localities have issued Official Dispatches regarding the organization of activities to celebrate November 20, 2019.
For example, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the Department of Education and Training issued Official Dispatch 2136/SGDDT-VP, directing education offices not to organize an anniversary ceremony on November 20 but instead to promote practical activities such as recreational, sports, and other meaningful activities.
Thus, this year, teachers in various provinces will not have an anniversary ceremony for Vietnamese Teachers' Day and will have to wait until November 20, 2022, to have a celebration for the teaching profession. For each educational institution, the organization of November 20 will be conducted according to the directives of the local Departments of Education and Training.
