Tasks to be Undertaken When Hosting International Sports Congresses and Competitions

Hosting international sports tournaments and events is advantageous for our country in promoting our national image and developing the economy. Consequently, the organization of such events must be emphasized; first and foremost, the tasks stipulated in Article 8 Circular 01/2013/TT-BVHTTDL should be carried out as follows:

- The Vietnam Olympic Committee is responsible for drafting the proposal and application dossier for hosting regional, continental, and world sports events in Vietnam. The General Department of Sports and Physical Training is responsible for appraising the application dossier for hosting regional, continental, and world sports events in Vietnam and submitting it to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to present to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision;- The General Department of Sports and Physical Training is responsible for guiding the Vietnam Olympic Committee and national sports federations and associations in drafting and implementing the plan to organize regional, continental, and world sports events in Vietnam;- The General Department of Sports and Physical Training will lead and cooperate with the Vietnam Olympic Committee and relevant organizations to submit to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the decision to establish the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee for the events.

Additionally, Circular 01 stipulates that for the hosting of international sports competitions for each sport, by October 31 each year, national sports federations and associations must prepare a list of prospective international sports events in Vietnam to be hosted in the following year, along with the application dossier for hosting the competition, and submit it to the General Department of Sports and Physical Training for appraisal and aggregation to report to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to present to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision.
