Tasks of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology regarding International Cooperation

The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology is an agency under the Government of Vietnam, performing the function of basic research in natural sciences and technology development; providing scientific grounds for the management of science, technology, and policy-making, strategies, and planning for economic and social development; and training high-level scientific and technological human resources in accordance with the provisions of the law.

1. Implement international cooperation in science and technology as prescribed by law;

2. Propose the signing, amending, supplementing, extending, and terminating the validity of international treaties, temporarily suspending the implementation of international treaties as prescribed by law;

3. Organize the implementation of international treaties as assigned by the Government of Vietnam and the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam;

4. Sign, amend, supplement, extend international agreements, terminate the validity, temporarily suspend the implementation of international agreements on behalf of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology as prescribed by law;

5. Organize the implementation and inspection of the implementation of internationally funded programs and projects as prescribed by law;

6. Organize and participate in conferences, seminars, programs, and plans for international cooperation as prescribed by law;

7. Organize cooperative research and training partnerships in science and technology with international organizations, foreign research institutes, and universities as prescribed by law.
