On June 16, 2010, the National Assembly promulgated the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam 2010, which provides for the organization and operation of the Stale Bank of Vietnam. A notable content of this Law is the tasks of the State Bank regarding information activities.
Specifically, according to Article 37 of the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam 2010, the State Bank has the following tasks in information activities:
- To receive, use. archive, provide and disclose information in accordance with law:
- To organize and supervise the provision of credit information relating lo clients having relations with credit institutions to these credit institutions:
- To guide the provision of information, and urge and examine the provision of information by organizations and individuals under law.
The statement and provision of information by the State Bank are specifically guided in Circular No. 48/2014/TT-NHNN.
The State Bank shall disclose according to its competence the following information:
- Monetary and banking guidelines, policies and laws;
- The State Bank Governor's executive decisions on the monetary and banking matters;
- Actual monetary and banking developments;
- Announcements related to the establishment, acquisition, sale, division, splitting, consolidation, merger, bankruptcy or dissolution of credit institutions;
- Financial and operational results of the State Bank according to law.
