Tampering with contents of archival materials is strictly prohibited in Vietnam

The Law on Archives 2011 of Vietnam was issued on November 11, 2011. This Law provides archival activities; rights and obligations of agencies, organizations and individuals in archival activities; training and improving in archival operations; archival services and archives management. There are strictly-prohibited acts specified in this document.

According to Article 3 of the Law on Archives 2011 of Vietnam, principles of archival management are as follows:

- The State uniformly manages the National archival set of Vietnam.

- Archival activities are uniformly carried out in accordance with law.

- The State makes statistics of materials of the National archival set of Vietnam.

Strictly-prohibited acts include:

One, appropriating, damaging or losing archival materials.

Two, tampering with, modifying or falsifying contents of archival materials.

Three, illegally buying, selling, transferring or canceling of archival materials.

Four, using archival materials for the purpose of harming state interests or rights and legitimate interests of agencies, organizations or individuals.

Five, illegally bringing overseas archival materials.

This content is specified in Article 8 of the Law on Archives 2011 of Vietnam.
