On May 28, 2018, the Government of Vietnam promulgated Decree 84/2018/ND-CP regulating the suspension of the validity of certain provisions in Decree 58/2017/ND-CP.
suspend the effect of some articles and clauses of Decree 58/2017/ND-CP until June 30, 2018, including:
- Article 82 on the application of electronic procedures for ships;- Article 83 on the responsibilities of agencies and organizations in implementing electronic procedures for ships;- Article 84 on electronic documents, conversion from paper documents to electronic documents and vice versa in implementing electronic procedures for ships;- Article 85 on the use of digital signatures in the implementation of electronic procedures for ships;- Article 86 on receiving and handling issues raised by procedural applicants;- Point b, Clause 2, Article 124 regarding procedures for ships entering, exiting, docking, and leaving seaports, as well as activities within Vietnam's territorial waters mentioned in Articles 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, and 16 of Decision 34/2016/QD-TTg;
According to Decree 84, the Government of Vietnam allows the continuation of electronic procedures for ships entering, exiting, transiting, docking, leaving seaports, and operating within Vietnam's territorial waters through the National Single Window Mechanism as stipulated in Decision 34/2016/QD-TTg until June 30, 2018.
