On September 09, 2024, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam issued Decision 2621/QD-BVHTTDL approving the Plan to support the propagation and wide promotion of the distinctive traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities under the National Target Program for the socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Vietnam.

With the aim of raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, layers of the population, village elders, village chiefs, reputable persons and ethnic minorities about the work of preserving, promoting traditional cultural values associated with local tourism development;

To inform, propagate, and widely promote the distinctive, characteristic traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities; the tourism promotion and development programs in ethnic minority and mountainous areas combined with research, tourism potential surveys, and selection of typical tourism products for these areas.

The Plan includes the following contents:

(1) Propagating and promoting traditional culture, and developing tourism in ethnic minority areas through Vietnam Television (VTV)

Organizing, producing television products (news articles, documentaries, special sections) to broadly and richly promote intangible traditional cultural forms, community culture, other cultural forms, and attractive tourist destinations to spread beautiful images of Vietnam, its people; shining examples; commending and expanding typical models in the work of preserving the traditional culture of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development at localities; broadcast on the channels of Vietnam Television (VTV). Broadcast products are primarily in Vietnamese, with some products in foreign languages and ethnic minority languages.

++ Duration: 08 minutes 30 seconds/reportage

++ Broadcast frame: Culture Perspective - VTV1

- Propagating about culture - tourism in ethnic minority areas on the channels of VTV

- Time: Quarter IV of 2024

Broadcast genres include:

- News;

- Reportage: Introducing tourism potentials;

- Reportage: Experiencing distinctive destinations;

- Documentary: Exploring distinctive ethnic culture.

(2) Propagating and promoting culture - tourism in ethnic minority areas through the Television channel of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV)

- Organizing, producing news articles, documentaries, discussions to promote, propagate Vietnam's achievements in implementing ethnic policies, ensuring equality, solidarity among ethnic groups; preserving traditional cultures of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development at localities.

- All products will be posted on vov.vn, and summary news will be translated and broadcast in 12 foreign languages.

Broadcast genres include:

- News;

- Discussion;

- Reportage: Preserving and promoting the distinctive traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development;

- Reportage: Commending individuals, communities, typical exemplary models in the work of cultural preservation associated with tourism development;

- Reportage: Solutions to preserve and promote traditional cultural values and awaken tourism potential in mountainous and ethnic minority areas (in Northern mountainous provinces and Central Highlands);

- Reportage: Distinctive traditional cultural heritages of ethnic minorities with the potential to develop into tourism products (in Northern mountainous provinces);

- Reportage: Tourist destinations and culinary culture, introducing unique dishes of ethnic minorities.
