Supplementing violations against regulations on flying of Vietnamese flag and national flag

Recently, the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam issued Circular No. 143/2018/TT-BQP on amendments to some Articles of Circular No. 130/2014/TT-BQP on guidelines for penalties for administrative violations committed within territorial waters, islands and continental shelf of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

According to Vietnam’s new regulations, violations against regulations on flying of Vietnamese flag and national flag are as follows:

- The flying of flags on ships at seaports shall comply with Clause 1 Article 61 of Decree No. 58/2017/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government.

- The flying of national flags on Vietnamese ships shall comply with Clause 2 Article 61 of Decree No. 58/2017/NĐ-CP.

- The flying of the national flag and Vietnamese flag on foreign ships upon its operation within maritime boundary areas shall comply with Clause 2 Article 8 of Decree No. 71/2015/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government.
