According to the regulation on the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements achieved by learners after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the forging and stamping occupation, issued together with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, forging and stamping at the intermediate level is a profession where the practitioner processes metals by pressure through the process of material plastic deformation to obtain products or semi-products with shapes and sizes according to requirements, meeting Level 4 in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

The pressure generated during forging and stamping can be performed manually (manual forging) or by machines (forging, stamping equipment - pressure processing equipment); the deformation processing can be carried out in a cold state (cold stamping) or in a hot state (hot forging, stamping).

The working environment of forging and stamping practitioners has significantly improved compared to earlier times as all factories and pressure-processing workshops now apply technological solutions to minimize the adverse effects of vibrations, noise, and temperature on workers' health.

However, to engage in the profession, workers need to have good health, knowledge, and mechanical engineering thinking, understanding of the occupation, technology development trends; to constantly study and enhance their skills, and have a sense of responsibility to operate and process products on modern, advanced forging, and stamping equipment, meeting societal demands.

Minimum volume of knowledge: 1,400 hours (equivalent to 50 credits).

Additionally, after graduation, learners have the capability to meet the requirements at job positions in the occupation, including:

- Hand tool forging;- Free machine forging;- Bulk stamping;- Sheet stamping.

In addition, the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from the Forging and Stamping occupation at the intermediate level can be further developed at higher levels. Graduates have the capacity for self-study and self-updating on technological advancements within the scope of the occupation to enhance their skills or to pursue higher education in the same occupation, in related occupations, or the same field of training.

Details in Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, issued on December 28, 2018.
