(Chinhphu.vn) - The National Assembly Standing Committee concurred on the necessity to submit to the National Assembly the consideration and approval of regulations on the application of the statute of limitations for disciplining officials and public employees under expedited procedures at the 4th session (October 2022) to promptly institutionalize the Communist Party's policy of enhancing discipline, emphasizing responsibility, and strictly handling violations of officials and public employees in the execution of public duties, ensuring consistency and synchronization between state administrative discipline and the discipline of the Communist Party.

On October 12, 2022, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly reviewed and gave opinions on the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the statute of limitations for disciplining officials and public employees according to the Presentation of the Government of Vietnam and the Preliminary Verification Report of the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs.
Based on the opinions of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the Secretary-General of the National Assembly, Chief of the Office of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong, issued Conclusion Notice No. 1523/TB-TTKQH on this matter.
The Standing Committee of the National Assembly agreed on the necessity of presenting to the National Assembly for consideration and approval of regulations on the application of the statute of limitations for disciplining officials and public employees following the simplified process at the fourth session (October 2022) to promptly institutionalize the Party's policy of strengthening discipline, compliance, emphasizing responsibility, and strictly handling violations of officials and public employees in the performance of public service, ensuring consistency and synchronization between the state's administrative discipline and the Party's discipline.
Integrating regulations on the statute of limitations for disciplining officials and public employees into the resolution of the fourth session
The Standing Committee of the National Assembly fundamentally agreed with the regulatory contents as proposed by the Government of Vietnam in Presentation No. 387/TTr-CP dated October 9, 2022.
As for the document format, they agreed with Option 01 outlined in the Presentation of the Government of Vietnam, which integrates the contents of regulations on the statute of limitations for disciplining officials and public employees into the resolution of the fourth session, 15th National Assembly, for the National Assembly to consider and decide.
The Standing Committee of the National Assembly requested that the Government of Vietnam promptly incorporate the opinions of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the preliminary verification opinions of the National Assembly's bodies, finalize the draft Resolution dossier to be presented to the National Assembly.
The Standing Committee of the National Assembly assigned the Committee on Legal Affairs to officially verify this content and submit it to the National Assembly for consideration and decision at the fourth session.
