Subjects and Registration for Foreign Language Proficiency Assessment Examination

Regulations on Language Proficiency Assessment under the 6-level Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam issued together with Circular 23/2017/TT-BGDDT specifically stipulate the candidates and registration for language proficiency assessment as follows:

1. Candidates:

Individuals who wish to have their language proficiency assessed or wish to be granted a language certificate under the 6-level Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam:

- Have a valid registration file; fully pay the examination fee, and the certificate issuance fee as prescribed;- Are not currently banned from taking the exam as specified in point e, clause 2, Article 29 of the Regulations.

2. Exam Registration:

- The registration file includes:- 02 photos sized 4cm × 6cm taken no more than 06 months before the registration date, with the full name and date of birth written on the back of the photos;- A copy of one of the following valid identification documents: identity card, passport, citizen identification card, student card (applicable for elementary or secondary school candidates);- Registration form for language proficiency assessment under the 6-level Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam (including information about full name; date of birth; number and issuance date of valid identification documents; time, place, and level of proficiency registered for the exam, and other necessary information).- Exam registration can be carried out in one of the following ways:- Individuals directly register for the exam with the organizing unit or register online through the website of the organizing unit;- Individuals register through the organization, agency, enterprise, or educational institution where they are working or studying.- The organizing unit is responsible for:- Publicly announcing on the website of the organizing unit information about the exam such as the exam format, sample exam, exam method, time, and place;- Reviewing the registration files, preparing the list of registered candidates for the exam; publicly announcing on the website of the organizing unit the list of registered candidates and specifically notifying candidates of the exam schedule and place for each skill at least 05 working days before the exam date;- Guiding candidates on necessary content before the exam.
