Study of Travel Management at the College Level for a Minimum of 1800 Hours (65 Credits)

Recently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has issued Circular 55/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum required knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating at intermediate level, college level for fields, occupations related to tourism, hospitality, sports, and personal services.

According to the provisions of Circular 55/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, Tourism and Travel Management at the college level is a profession that directly implements, manages, and coordinates travel and tourism activities. The duties of the tourism and travel management profession include: designing travel programs; organizing marketing and selling travel products; operating, organizing, and resolving arising issues during the implementation of travel programs to ensure the best customer care to maintain market share, establishing, and maintaining good relationships with partners; ensuring the safety and security of customers as prescribed; managing, supervising personnel, and closely evaluating work results to achieve high business efficiency, meeting level 5 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

The minimum academic credits of the Tourism and Travel Management field at the college level is 1800 hours (equivalent to 65 credits)

The main tasks are mainly carried out at travel business enterprises, travel agency offices, and other tourism service business establishments in a highly diverse and rich working environment, often involving communication with customers, service providers, and domestic and foreign partners.

This circular also specifies that to practice the profession, employees need to be equipped with tools, machinery, and equipment such as office equipment, communication means, specialized materials, etc. They must have professional knowledge and foreign language skills; appropriate health and appearance; the ability to communicate and behave professionally. Additionally, the tourism and travel management profession requires employees to have the capability to direct, operate, and supervise the mentioned works and to have a foreign language proficiency suitable for each management level.
