Students of Pedagogy Must Reimburse Tuition Fees If They Work Outside Their Trained Field

This is an important provision stipulated in the Education Law 2019, passed by the National Assembly on June 14, 2019. Education Law 2019

Students enrolled in pedagogical training programs are eligible to receive government support for tuition fees and living expenses throughout the duration of their studies. However, if within two years of graduation they do not work in the education sector or do not fulfill the required duration of service, they must reimburse the financial support provided by the State. The maximum repayment period is equivalent to the training duration.

In addition to the aforementioned policy, pedagogical students in particular and other specialized students in general will benefit from policies for learners as stipulated below:

- The State provides scholarship policies to encourage learning for students with excellent academic results at specialized and gifted schools as specified in Article 62 of this Law, and for learners with academic and training results achieving a good or higher rating at vocational education institutions and higher education institutions; and provides policy scholarships for students in targeted recruitment programs, students at preparatory schools, ethnic boarding schools, and learners at vocational education institutions for war invalids and people with disabilities.

- The State has policies for allowances and tuition exemptions or reductions for learners who are eligible for social policy benefits, ethnic minorities in regions with exceptionally difficult socio-economic conditions, orphans, homeless children, people with disabilities, and individuals from poor and near-poor households.
