Structures Requiring Approval for Height Management

On May 06, 2016, the Government of Vietnam promulgated Decree 32/2016/ND-CP on the management of the height of aviation obstacles and the positions for managing and protecting the airspace in Vietnam.

To ensure the safety of the aviation sector, the following projects must obtain approval for height management:

- Structures that exceed the planning limits of the obstacle surfaces of the airport and structures located in the vicinity of the airport with a height of 45 meters or more above the airport elevation.- Structures that exceed the height of the published obstacle surface limits or are at least 45 meters above the natural ground level, located outside urban planning areas, spaces that have been agreed upon by the Ministries, sectors, and localities with the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army regarding height.- Systems of lighting poles in the restricted areas at the heads of the airports; high-voltage power lines, cableways, radio transmission and reception stations, and wind power structures; structures located within the scope of influence and adjacent to the areas designated for airspace management and protection and aviation radio stations.
