Article 6 of Circular 65/2024/TT-BCA provides for the structure of the test for restoration of points of driver licenses in Vietnam from January 1, 2025 as follows:

(1) For the theoretical legal knowledge test

- The point recovery test for driver license category A1: The structure of the test consists of 25 multiple-choice questions, each question valued at 1 point, including 1 question considered as a crucial point question.

- The point recovery test for driver license category A, B1: The structure of the test consists of 25 multiple-choice questions, each question valued at 1 point, including 1 question considered as a crucial point question.

- The point recovery test for driver license category B: The structure of the test consists of 30 multiple-choice questions, each question valued at 1 point, including 1 question considered as a crucial point question.

- The point recovery test for driver license category C1: The structure of the test consists of 35 multiple-choice questions, each question valued at 1 point, including 1 question considered as a crucial point question.

- The point recovery test for driver license categories D1, D2, D, BE, C1Q, CE, D1E, D2E, DE: The structure of the test consists of 45 multiple-choice questions, each question valued at 1 point, including 1 question considered as a crucial point question.

(2) For the legal knowledge test in a simulated format

The test is designed with 10 questions simulating traffic scenarios, each question represents a potential traffic safety risk with a maximum score of 5 points and a minimum score of 0 points. The test participant's score corresponds to the timing of recognizing and identifying the potential traffic safety risk through interaction with a computer equipped with simulation software.

Note:

- In the case where a motorbike license holder has all their points deducted, they only need to take the theoretical legal knowledge test.

- In the case where a car license holder has all their points deducted, they must take both the theoretical legal knowledge test and the legal knowledge test in a simulated format.

Persons who do not meet the requirements in the theoretical legal knowledge test are not allowed to proceed to the legal knowledge test in a simulated format.

Persons who meet the requirements in the theoretical legal knowledge test but do not meet the requirements in the simulated legal knowledge test are allowed to preserve their theoretical legal knowledge test results for a period of 1 year, from the date of achieving a satisfactory result.

Test participants who do not meet test requirements may register for a retake after 7 working days from the date of the previous test conclusion.

- Regarding the test method:

+ For the theoretical legal knowledge test, participants conduct the multiple-choice test on a computer using software testing legal knowledge on road traffic order and safety;

+ For the legal knowledge test in a simulated format, participants handle traffic scenarios through simulation on a computer.

More details can be found in Circular 65/2024/TT-BCA (effective from January 1, 2025).
