Circular 42/2017/TT-BGTVT issued by the Ministry of Transport on November 15, 2017, lists the standards for service personnel on tourist transport vehicles.
Circular 42 stipulates that service staff on road passenger transport vehicles for tourists must meet the following standards:
- Service staff on tourist transport vehicles must undergo training on professional duties and legal regulations related to transport business activities as prescribed by the Minister of Transport.- Service staff on tourist transport vehicles must be trained in tourism operations by the transport business unit (except in cases where the service staff on the vehicle is a Tour Guide or has been trained, educated in tourism or related fields at training institutions from intermediate level in tourism operations or higher).- For drivers who also serve as service staff when transporting tourists, the transport business unit must provide tourism operation training for the driver equivalent to the training provided to service staff.
Additionally, the standards for service staff on inland waterway passenger transport vehicles for tourists are stipulated in Circular 42 as follows:
- Service staff must be trained and educated on professional duties and legal regulations related to transport business activities as prescribed by the Minister of Transport; trained in lifesaving, firefighting, rescue, and first aid.- Service staff on inland waterway passenger transport vehicles for tourists must be trained in tourism operations by the transport business unit (except in cases where the service staff on the vehicle is a Tour Guide or has been trained, educated in tourism or related fields at training institutions from intermediate level in tourism operations or higher).
