Criteria and standard qualifications of teachers in District-level public vocational education centers in Vietnam (Illustrative image)

According to Article 26 of Circular 05/2020/TT-BLDTBXH, the Criteria and standard qualifications of teachers in District-level public vocational education centers in Vietnam are stipulated. Teachers in these centers in Vietnam must meet the following standards:

- Possess good character, ideology, and ethics;

- Meet the professional standards as per job position and attain the prescribed level of professional, vocational training;

- Have a clear personal background; ensure health requirements as per the profession.

The prescribed training qualifications for teachers in Vietnam are as follows:

- Teachers instructing at primary vocational level must hold a certificate of intermediate graduation or higher, or a vocational skills certificate for teaching at the primary vocational level;

- Teachers instructing at the primary vocational level as per the above regulation, if they do not hold a college degree in pedagogy, a college degree in technical pedagogy, or a university degree in pedagogy, a university degree in technical pedagogy, must hold a professional teaching certificate.

Additionally, the recruitment, implementation of working policies, training, professional development, and other policies for teachers in the centers are executed according to the standards for the teacher's title in the vocational education center issued by the Minister of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam and in accordance with the law in Vietnam.

Details can be found in Circular 05/2020/TT-BLDTBXH which comes into force in Vietnam from October 1, 2020.
