Specialized Construction Inspection: How Long Is the Implementation Period?

Here is the important content, updated in Decree 26/2013/ND-CP on the organization and operation of the construction inspection sector.

The sectorial inspection and administrative inspection by the state construction inspection authority have specific time limits:

- Sectorial inspections and administrative inspections conducted by the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Construction should not exceed 45 days. In complicated cases, it may be extended to no more than 70 days.- Sectorial inspections and administrative inspections conducted by the Inspectorate of the Department of Construction should not exceed 30 days. In complicated cases or due to difficult travel conditions in mountainous areas, border areas, islands, remote areas, and underdeveloped regions, it may be extended to no more than 45 days.

Authority to issue inspection decisions: The Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Construction and the Chief Inspector of the Department of Construction issue administrative and sectoral inspection decisions. When necessary, the Minister of Construction or the Director of the Department of Construction may issue inspection decisions according to the provisions in Clause 3, Article 6 and Clause 3, Article 9 of Decree 26/2013/ND-CP.

The person who issued the inspection decision mentioned above has the authority to extend the inspection period.
