According to Circular 20/2016/TT-BCT, to improve energy efficiency in the steel industry, the following measures can be applied:

- Establish an ISO 50.001 energy management system for the unit and implement measures to enhance energy efficiency in energy management;- Low-investment energy efficiency improvement solutions (replacing individual equipment with better energy efficiency);- High-investment energy efficiency improvement solutions (replacing one or several clusters of equipment with better energy efficiency or changing technology to improve energy efficiency).

Also according to Circular 20/2016/TT-BCT, the state encourages organizations and individuals to apply solutions to improve energy efficiency according to Clause 1, Article 7, and Appendix V issued with Circular 20/2016/TT-BCT.
