Solutions to Improve Energy Efficiency in Paper Production

Circular 24/2017/TT-BCT has been issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade regulating energy consumption norms in paper production. This is the first Circular to provide detailed regulations on this matter.

Circular 24 introduces several solutions to enhance energy efficiency in paper production, specifically:

- The formulation and implementation of solutions to improve energy efficiency in paper production must maximize the use of management and technology solutions.- Encourage paper production facilities to apply advanced energy management standards and implement solutions to enhance energy efficiency in paper production.

Additionally, Circular 24 also issues regulations on ensuring energy consumption standards as follows:

- Paper product manufacturing facilities must ensure that energy consumption rates do not exceed the allowable energy consumption standards.- In cases where an operational paper product manufacturing facility has an energy consumption rate exceeding the corresponding energy consumption standards for each stage, it is the responsibility of the facility to develop and implement solutions to enhance energy efficiency to meet the energy consumption standards.- The energy consumption rates of new investment projects must not exceed the allowable energy consumption standards.
