On September 14, 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Circular 19/2016/TT-BCT stipulating energy consumption norms in the beer and beverage production industry.
According to the provisions of Circular 19/2016/TT-BCT, to effectively use energy in the beer and beverage production industry, the following solutions can be applied:
- Management solutions include:
- Strengthening the management of energy use activities at facilities;- Building and maintaining an energy management system at facilities.
- Technical and technological solutions include:
- Optimizing the technological process;- Using energy-efficient equipment.
Furthermore, Circular 19/2016/TT-BCT also sets out requirements for ensuring energy consumption standards until the end of 2025, specifically:
- The energy consumption rate of the beer and beverage production industry from now until the end of 2025 must not exceed the energy consumption standards stipulated in Clauses 1 and 2 of Article 5 of Circular 19/2016/TT-BCT.- In cases where the energy consumption rate of the beer and beverage production industry exceeds the energy consumption standards for each phase, the production facility must develop and implement solutions to improve energy efficiency to meet the requirements specified in Clauses 1 and 2 of Article 5 of Circular 19/2016/TT-BCT.- The energy consumption rate of new investment projects or renovation and expansion projects must not exceed the energy consumption standards specified in Clause 2, Article 5 of Circular 19/2016/TT-BCT.
