On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs issued Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating at intermediate level, college level for fields, and professions in health and social services.

According to the regulations on the minimum required knowledge volume and competency requirements for learners after graduating from the intermediate level, college level in the medical imaging equipment engineering profession issued with Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum skills that learners achieve after graduating from the technical intermediate level in medical imaging equipment engineering are as follows:
- Plan periodic maintenance for diagnostic imaging equipment;
- Install entirely or partially diagnostic imaging equipment following guidelines and ensure requirements;
- Operate and use diagnostic imaging equipment correctly;
- Perform regular maintenance and periodic maintenance on commonly used diagnostic imaging equipment;
- Identify and repair common malfunctions of diagnostic imaging equipment with simple structures such as film printers, film washers, or simple parts like patient tables, mechanical movements, etc., of large equipment;
- Create machine history logs and record the operational status of diagnostic imaging equipment;
- Propose solutions for labor safety work and environmental sanitation;
- Use basic information technology as regulated; apply information technology in some specialized tasks of the profession;
- Use basic foreign languages, achieving level 1/6 in the Vietnamese foreign language proficiency framework; apply foreign languages in some specialized tasks of the profession.
