Gender equality means that men and women have equal positions and roles, are provided with conditions and opportunities to develop their capabilities for the development of the community and family, and equally enjoy the benefits of such development.
According to the provisions of Article 6 of the Gender Equality Law 2006, the basic principles of gender equality include:
Firstly, men and women are equal in all areas of social and family life.
Secondly, men and women are not discriminated against based on gender.
Thirdly, measures to promote gender equality are not considered gender discrimination.
Fourthly, policies to protect and support mothers are not considered gender discrimination.
Fifthly, ensuring the integration of gender equality issues in the formulation and implementation of laws.
Sixthly, the implementation of gender equality is the responsibility of agencies, organizations, families, and individuals.
