Scope of maritime channel protection is calculated from the position of the anchoring buoy centerline on both sides of the channel as determined according to maritime channel technical standards. To be specific:
- Minimum 60 m for maritime channels with a channel width greater than 210 m and a designed bottom elevation greater than 20 m at sea entrances, on the sea, open bays; channels in rivers, enclosed bays, or canals with a channel width greater than 230 m and a designed bottom elevation greater than 17 m;- Minimum 50 m for maritime channels with a channel width from 190 m to 210 m and a designed bottom elevation from 16 m to 20 m at sea entrances, on the sea, open bays; channels in rivers, enclosed bays, or canals with a channel width from 210 m to 230 m and a designed bottom elevation from 14 m to 17 m;- Minimum 40 m for maritime channels with a channel width from 140 m to 190 m and a designed bottom elevation from 14 m to 16 m at sea entrances, on the sea, open bays; channels in rivers, enclosed bays, or canals with a channel width from 150 m to 210 m and a designed bottom elevation from 12 m to 14 m;- Minimum 30 m for maritime channels with a channel width from 80 m to 140 m and a designed bottom elevation from 8 m to 14 m at sea entrances, on the sea, open bays; channels in rivers, enclosed bays, or canals with a channel width from 90 m to 150 m and a designed bottom elevation from 7 m to 12 m;- Minimum 20 m for maritime channels with a channel width less than 80 m and a designed bottom elevation less than 8 m at sea entrances, on the sea, open bays; channels in rivers, enclosed bays, or canals with a channel width less than 90 m and a designed bottom elevation less than 7 m.
