Below is the announcement of holiday, flag hoisting, and slogans on the occasion of Solar New Year and Lunar New Year in 2025 in Da Nang.
The People's Committee of Da Nang announces the holidays, flag hoisting, and slogans on the occasion of Solar New Year, Lunar New Year in 2025 as follows:
Holiday Duration
Officials and public employees and employees of administrative agencies, public service providers, political organizations, and socio-political organizations are arranged as follows:
- New Year 2025: 1 day off, January 1, 2025, which falls on a Wednesday.
- Lunar New Year 2025: Off from Saturday, January 25, 2025 (corresponding to the 26th day of the twelfth lunar month of the Year of the Dragon) to the end of Sunday, February 2, 2025 (corresponding to the 5th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Snake). This includes 5 days of Lunar New Year holiday and 4 regular weekly days off.
**Agencies and units implementing the above-mentioned Tet holiday schedule should: arrange and allocate staff to be on duty according to regulations and work rationally to ensure continuous work management, efficiently serving organizations and the public. Particularly, appoint officials and public employees to be on duty to handle unexpected and unforeseen tasks that may arise during the holiday in accordance with regulations.
**Agencies, units that do not adhere to fixed Saturday and Sunday weekly days off shall base their holiday scheduling on specific programs and plans, adhering to legal compliance.
**For employees not covered by the above regulation, employers decide on the Lunar New Year holiday plan as follows:
- Choose either 1 day at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 4 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake, or 2 days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 3 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake, or 3 days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 2 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake.
- If regular weekly days off coincide with Tet holidays as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019, employees are entitled to compensatory days off on the next working days as stipulated in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code 2019.
- Employers are encouraged to apply the Lunar New Year 2025 holiday period for employees as prescribed for officials and public employees.
**State offices, businesses with Communist Party organizations are to hoist the Communist Party flag, National flag, and propaganda slogans as guided by the Propaganda Department of the Da Nang Party Committee.
**All agencies, units, households, and vessels are to hoist the National flag (following the guidelines of the Department of Culture and Sports) on the following days:
- New Year 2025: Hoist from December 30, 2024, to January 2, 2025;
- Lunar New Year 2025: Hoist from January 27, 2025, to February 5, 2025.
The People's Committee of the city respectfully informs all agencies, organizations, businesses, employers, and the public to be aware and implement.
According to Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019, employees have a total of 11 paid holiday days.
New Year: 1 day (January 1); Lunar New Year: 5 days; Victory Day: 1 day (April 30); International Labor Day: 1 day (May 1); National Day: 2 days (September 2 and a contiguous day before or after); Hung Kings' Commemoration Day: 1 day (10th day of the third lunar month).
In 2025, in addition to the 11 statutory holiday days, employees will have 11 additional compensatory, continuous days off due to overlap with regular weekly days off and workday exchanges, totaling 22 days off. Among those, the longest holiday is the 2025 Lunar New Year, totaling 9 days off.
