This is a notable regulation in the 2019 Law on the Mobilization Reserve Force issued by the National Assembly at the 8th session of the XIV Legislature on November 26, 2019.

Policies regarding salaries and allowances for reservist soldiers during the period of training, exercises, check readiness for mobilization, readiness for combat, and mobilization when not yet at the level of general mobilization or partial mobilization are regulated by the National Assembly in the Law on Mobilization Reserve Forces 2019 as follows:
a) Reservist soldiers who are working, studying, or employed in agencies, organizations, and receiving salaries from the state budget shall be paid their full salary and benefits, allowances, welfare, travel allowances, and transportation costs by the agencies, organizations where they are working, studying, or employed. In cases where their salaries and allowances are lower than those applied in the People’s Army, the People's Army unit shall pay the difference;
b) Reservist soldiers who do not belong to the subjects mentioned in point a of this clause shall be provided an allowance for each working day by the People's Army unit based on the basic salary of officers, professional soldiers, and active-duty soldiers, or by the same allowance according to the military rank of active-duty non-commissioned officers and soldiers; transportation costs and travel allowances shall be the same as for active-duty soldiers.
Additionally, the Law on Mobilization Reserve Forces 2019 also stipulates other specific policies for Reservist Soldiers as follows:
- Reservist soldiers are provided or lent military uniforms, personal effects, and ensured meals according to current policies for officers, professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers, and active-duty soldiers.- Reservist soldiers who are working, studying, or employed in agencies, organizations, if they are on annual leave and are called for training, exercises, check readiness for mobilization, readiness for combat, or mobilization when not yet at the level of general mobilization or partial mobilization, the remaining days of leave shall be continued after the mission is completed or compensated at an appropriate time.- Reservist soldiers who are injured or sacrificed while performing their duties shall be recognized as war invalids or martyrs, and they and their families shall enjoy policies and benefits according to the provisions of the law on preferential treatment for people with meritorious services to the revolution.- Reservist soldiers who perform heavy, hazardous, dangerous, exceptionally heavy, hazardous, dangerous jobs according to the provisions of labor law shall enjoy regimes and policies like those for workers performing the same jobs.- Reservist soldiers who participate in social insurance, health insurance, and suffer from illness, accident, death, or reduction in working capacity shall enjoy regimes and policies according to the provisions of the law on social insurance, health insurance; in cases where they do not participate in social insurance, health insurance, they shall enjoy policies and benefits according to the regulations of the Government of Vietnam.
