The Ministry of Transport has signed and promulgated Circular 91/2015/TT-BGTVT regulating the speed and safe distance of motor vehicles and specialized motorcycles participating in road traffic on December 31, 2015. Circular 91 provides detailed regulations on the safe distance between two vehicles when participating in road traffic.
Regulations on the safe distance between two vehicles when participating in road traffic in Vietnam as per Circular 91/2015/TT-BGTVT are as follows:
- When the road surface is dry, the safe distance corresponding to each speed is regulated as:

Note, when driving at speeds of 60 km/h or less, in urban areas, densely populated areas, the driver must actively maintain an appropriate safe distance with the vehicle directly in front of them; this distance depends on the density of vehicles, the actual traffic conditions to ensure safety.
