The Population Ordinance of 2003 was promulgated on January 09, 2003. One of the fundamental contents of this document is the regulation of the rights and obligations of citizens regarding population work.
Specifically, according to the provisions of Article 4 of the 2003 Population Ordinance, in population work, citizens have the following rights:
- To be provided with information about the population;- To be provided with quality, convenient, and safe population services and to have confidentiality ensured in accordance with legal regulations;- To choose measures for reproductive health care, family planning, and to improve population quality;- To choose a place to reside in accordance with legal regulations.
At the same time, citizens have the following obligations:
- To implement family planning; to build a small, prosperous, equal, progressive, happy, and sustainable family;- To undertake appropriate measures to improve the physical, intellectual, and mental well-being of oneself and family members;- To respect the interests of the State, society, and community in adjusting population size, structure, distribution, and improving population quality;- To comply with the provisions of this Ordinance and other relevant legal regulations related to population work.
