Revenue Sources from Online Newspapers

This is the content stipulated in Circular 15/2017/TT-BTTTT issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications on June 23, 2017, specifying the Statistical Indicator System of the Information and Communications Sector.

Accordingly, Circular 15 stipulates that revenue from electronic newspapers is the total amount of money collected by press agencies in accordance with the law on their electronic newspapers.

The classification is primarily based on the type of revenue. To be specific:

- Revenue from access, copyrights for viewing journalistic products, and exchange/purchase of content copyrights: This is the total amount collected from access, sale, and exchange related to electronic journalistic activities in accordance with the law.- Revenue from advertising: This is the total amount collected from advertising activities that electronic press agencies collect in accordance with the law.- Revenue from other sources: This is the total amount collected from other sources in journalistic activities (such as revenue from business services, legal sponsorship from organizations and individuals both domestic and foreign).

At the same time, Circular 15 also stipulates that publication periods are on an annual basis and data sources are collected from statistical reporting policies of the Information and Communications industry.
