Responsibilities of the Sub-department of Standards, Metrology, and Quality

- Conduct verification measurements as stipulated in Article 6 of this Circular at markets, commercial centers, and retail points within the local jurisdiction.- Organize calibration activities for scales at markets, commercial centers, and retail points within the local jurisdiction as per regulations.- Provide information, communication, and professional guidance on metrology to relevant organizations and individuals according to the plan approved by the Department of Science and Technology.- Lead and cooperate with market management boards and commercial centers to guide consumers in conducting verification measurements to check the weight of purchased goods as stipulated.- Inspect and supervise metrology compliance for weight measurements in retail commerce within the local jurisdiction as per the law.- Annually, in March or as needed upon request, compile reports for the Department of Science and Technology and the Directorate for Standards, Metrology, and Quality on the inspection and supervision of weight measurements in retail commerce within the local jurisdiction.
