On April 24, 2014, the Ministry of Public Security issued Circular 17/2014/TT-BCA stipulating the operation, management, maintenance, and protection of the system for surveillance and handling of road traffic order and safety violations in Vietnam.
Responsibilities of the General Department of Administrative Management Police in managing the Traffic surveillance system in Vietnam (Internet image)
To be specific, Circular 17/2014/TT-BCA stipulates that the General Department of Administrative Police for Order and Social Safety is responsible for managing the traffic surveillance system nationwide. The responsibilities of the General Department of Administrative Management Police for Order and Social Safety in Vietnam are as follows:
- Direct, inspect, and guide the police of various units and localities in managing the traffic surveillance system;
- Manage the operation of the traffic surveillance system;
- Manage the authorization and security of user accounts in the traffic surveillance system;
- Provide login passwords to the traffic surveillance system for the police of various units and localities;
- Invest in, build, and upgrade application software for the traffic surveillance system nationwide.
Additionally, this Circular stipulates other responsibilities of the General Department of Administrative Management Police for Order and Social Safety as follows:
- The General Department of Administrative Management Police for Order and Social Safety specifically regulates the operation of the traffic surveillance system.
- The General Department of Administrative Management Police for Order and Social Safety shall cooperate with the Department of Finance to guide the police of various units and localities on budget estimation, management, and use of allocated funds for the operation, management, maintenance, and protection of the traffic surveillance system.
- The General Director of the General Department of Administrative Management Police for Order and Social Safety is responsible for directing, guiding, inspecting, and urging the implementation of this Circular.
