Responsibilities of military schools in national defense and security education in Vietnam (Illustration)

According to the provisions of Article 13 of Circular 24/2014/TT-BQP, the responsibilities of military schools in national defense and security education and training in Vietnam are as follows:

1. Vietnam National Defense Academy

- Preside over and coordinate with the Standing Agency of the Central national defense and security education Council (Militia and Self-Defense Department/General Staff Department) and relevant agencies of the Central Organization Board and Ministry of Home Affairs to develop a plan for each course of Defense and Security Knowledge Training for Category 1, submit it to the Chairman of the Central national defense and security education Council for approval, and organize its implementation;

- Participate in developing programs, compiling curriculums, and materials for Defense and Security Knowledge Training, and in teaching and conducting scientific research on national defense and security education.

2. Vietnam Political Academy

- Preside over and coordinate with the Standing Agency of the Hanoi City national defense and security education Council, relevant agencies of ministries and central authorities headquartered in Hanoi to develop a plan for each course of Defense and Security Knowledge Training for Category 2 under ministries and central authorities, submit it to the Standing Head of the Central national defense and security education Council for approval, and organize its implementation;

- Participate in developing programs, compiling curriculums, and materials for Defense and Security Knowledge Training, and in teaching and conducting scientific research on national defense and security education.

3. Military schools entrusted with national defense and security education tasks in Vietnam

- Provide national national defense and security education for students, Defense and Security Knowledge Training for Categories 2, 3, and other entities in the area according to approved plans by competent authorities;

- Train, foster, and provide training for teachers, lecturers, and management personnel in national defense and security education when assigned;

- Participate in compiling, revising programs, curriculums, textbooks, materials, teaching and conducting scientific research on national defense and security education.
