On February 07, 2025, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly approved Resolution 1403/NQ-UBTVQH15 regarding the ratification of the proposal by the Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy on the working structure of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

Details of the organizational structure of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam after streamlining​

Article 1 of Resolution 1403/NQ-UBTVQH15 ratified the proposal by the Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy for the new working structure of the Supreme People's Procuracy, which includes:

(1) Inspection Committee;

(2) Office;

(3) Division for Prosecution and Investigation of Security Crimes;

(4) Division for Prosecution and Investigation of Social Order Crimes;

(5) Division for Prosecution and Investigation of Economic and Corruption Crimes;

(6) Division for Prosecution and Investigation of Drug Crimes;

(7) Division for Prosecution and Investigation of Judicial Crimes;

(8) Division for Prosecution and Criminal Trial Monitoring;

(9) Investigation Agency of the Supreme People's Procuracy;

(10) Division for Detention and Criminal Enforcement Supervision;

(11) Division for Civil Case Supervision;

(12) Division for Administrative, Commercial Business Supervision;

(13) Division for Civil Enforcement Supervision;

(14) Division for Resolving Complaints, Denunciations about Judicial Matters;

(15) Division for International Cooperation and Criminal Judicial Assistance;

(16) Legal Division;

(17) Personnel Organization Division;

(18) Crime Statistics and Digital Transformation Department;

(19) Finance Department;

(20) Inspectorate;

(21) Procuracy University (with a Branch in Ho Chi Minh City);

(22) Procuracy Science Institute;

(23) Law Protection Newspaper;

(24) Central Military Procuracy.

The Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy defines the organizational structure, duties, powers, and working relationships of the units within the working structure of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

The streamlined organizational structure of the Supreme People's Procuracy under Resolution 1403/NQ-UBTVQH15 is effective from February 07, 2025.

Resolution 951/NQ-UBTVQH13 dated May 28, 2015, of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, approving the Decision of the Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy regarding the working structure of the Supreme People's Procuracy, is no longer effective from February 07, 2025.

Principles of organization and operation of the People's Procuracy of Vietnam

- The People's Procuracy is led by the Chief Procurator. The Chief Procurator of the subordinate People's Procuracy is under the leadership of the Chief Procurator of the superior People's Procuracy. The Chief Procurator of subordinate Procuracies is under the unified leadership of the Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

The superior Procuracy is responsible for inspecting and strictly handling legal violations of the subordinate Procuracy. The Chief Procurator of the superior Procuracy has the authority to annul, suspend, or revoke illegal decisions made by the Chief Procurator of the subordinate Procuracy.

- At the Supreme People's Procuracy, the High-Level People's Procuracy, the Provincial/Municipal People's Procuracies, the Central Military Procuracy, and the Military Region-equivalent Procuracies, an Inspection Committee is established to discuss and make decisions by majority on important matters, provide opinions on cases and matters before the Chief Procurator makes a decision as stipulated in Articles 43, 45, 47, 53, and 55 of the Law on Organization of the People's Procuracy 2014.
