Requirements on Distance for Railway Signals

Recently, Circular 32/2018/TT-BGTVT was issued by the Ministry of Transport regarding 02 National Technical Regulations on railways. The document takes effect from July 01, 2018.

According to the regulations in the National Technical Regulations on Railway Traffic Signals, signage signals must ensure continuous and clear visibility within the following distances:

- Entry, transit, protective, and block signals must have a minimum visibility of 800 m;- Exit signals from stations, main tracks, yard entry signals, advance signals, and humped yard signals must have a minimum visibility of 400 m;- Exit signals from stations, sidetracks, shunting signals, guiding signals, and other types of indicators must have a minimum visibility of 200 m;- In places where curves, terrain, or architecture obscure visibility, the visibility of entry, transit, protective, and block signals may be reduced to at least 400 m. In special cases, visibility may be less than 400 m but must be greater than 200 m.
