On November 30, 2017, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment issued Circular 49/2017/TT-BTNMT, specifying the requirements for information and data collection for the coastal resource management program.
Circular 49 stipulates that the information and data collected must meet the following requirements:
- Must be collected from official statistical sources, legally recognized, ensuring reliability and accuracy;- Must be the latest updates up to the time of program establishment.
In addition, Circular 49 also stipulates that the sources of information and data to serve the establishment of the program include:
- Information and data from the Statistical Yearbooks of the General Statistics Office, ministries, sectors, and provincial statistical offices;- Information and data from the results of natural resources and environmental monitoring by the natural resources and environment monitoring systems of the world, region, and nation, ministries, and central authorities and local authorities;- Information and data provided by relevant ministries, central authorities, and local authorities;- Information and data from research and survey results serving the establishment of coastal protection corridors; results of national, ministerial, and provincial scientific research programs and topics that have been accepted;- Information and data from remote sensing images or aerial photographs;- National, provincial, and centrally-run coastal cities marine and island environment status reports and thematic marine and island environment status reports.
