Requirements for Forest Monitoring from January 01, 2019

Circular 33/2018/TT-BNNPTNT was promulgated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on November 16, 2018, specifying detailed requirements for monitoring forest changes.

Accordingly, Circular 33 stipulates that monitoring forest changes must meet the following requirements:

- Use the results of the forest inventory integrated into the forest change monitoring database center located at the General Department of Forestry (referred to as Central Data) as the original data for annual forest change monitoring. Data published the previous year serves as the database for monitoring forest changes the following year;- Use the Forest Change Update Software issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;- Use necessary measuring and drawing devices and tools, including personal computers, satellite positioning devices, and tablets to outline the forest plots with changes.

At the same time, Circular 33 also stipulates the tasks of monitoring forest changes, including:

- Monitoring changes in area according to forest status;- Monitoring changes in area according to forest owners;- Monitoring changes in area according to the purpose of forest use;- Monitoring changes in forest area according to various causes.
