On December 29, 2017, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism issued Circular 09/2017/TT-BVHTTDL regulating the infrastructure, equipment, and training of professional staff for the sport of Badminton.
facilities and equipment for badminton training must meet the following requirements:
1. Badminton court surface:
- It must be at least 15.40m in length and at least 8.10m in width;- The court surface must be flat and non-slip.
2. Court dimensions:
- For doubles play court: Length 13.40m, width 6.10m, diagonal length of the court is 14.723m;- For singles play court: Length 13.40m, width 5.18m, diagonal length of the court is 14.366m;- Boundary lines and limit lines must be 4cm wide;- The distance from the end lines and side lines to the surrounding walls and to the adjacent courts must be at least 01m;- For indoor badminton courts, the height from the court surface to the ceiling must be at least 8m, and the walls must not be made of materials that are shiny or cause glare.
3. The height of the net must be 1.55m, the net posts must be cylindrical, sturdy, and vertical when the net is pulled tight. The net posts and accessories must not be placed inside the court.
4. The net must be made of nylon or synthetic materials with a dark color, the mesh size must be no smaller than 15mm and no larger than 20mm, and the top edge of the net must be bordered with white tape.
5. Ensure lighting on the court is at least 150 lux.
6. There must be a first aid kit as per regulations of the Ministry of Health, changing rooms, storage facilities, and sanitation areas.
7. There must be a rule board.
