Circular 12/2018/TT-BXD has been signed and promulgated by the Ministry of Construction, issuing the National Technical Regulation on Car Garages, code QCVN 13:2018/BXD.

According to new regulations, the entrances of underground car garages must be situated at the following distances from buildings:

- To residential building entrances: 100 m- To the passenger lounges of bus stations, the entrances of commercial organizations, and public food establishments: 150 m- To service and community service agencies and administrative buildings: 250 m- To entrances of parks, exhibition centers, and stadiums: 400 m

Note: The distance from the entrance to the structures may be considered smaller than the above values when appropriate technical solutions are applied to ensure the related environmental and safety conditions.

Additionally, the floors of underground car garages must be equipped with fire water drainage devices. The drainage pipes mentioned above should be separate for each basement floor. The drained water is permitted to be directed into the stormwater drainage system or holding tanks without local purification.

Circular 12/2018/TT-BXD is effective from March 15, 2019.
