Below is the content regarding the reorganization of commune-level administrative units under Quang Nam Province from January 1, 2025.
RReorganization of commune-level administrative units in Quang Nam province (effective January 1, 2025)
On October 24, 2024, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam issued Resolution 1241/NQ-UBTVQH regarding the reorganization of district-level and commune-level administrative units in Quang Nam Province for the period 2023 – 2025.
Resolution 1241/NQ-UBTVQH has reorganized the commune-level administrative units in Quang Nam Province, as follows:
(1) Reorganization of the commune-level administrative units in Hiep Duc District as follows:
- Establish Que Tan Commune by merging the entire natural area of 30.75 km2, with a population of 2,018 people from Hiep Thuan Commune and the entire natural area of 60.53 km2, with a population of 2,402 people from Hiep Hoa Commune. After establishment, Que Tan Commune has a natural area of 91.28 km2 and a population of 4,420 people.
Que Tan Commune borders Que Tho Commune, Song Tra Commune, commune-level town Tan Binh; Phuoc Son District and Que Son District;
- After reorganization, Hiep Duc District has 10 commune-level administrative units, including 09 communes and 01 commune-level town.
(2) Reorganization of the commune-level administrative units in Thang Binh District as follows:
- Establish Binh Dinh Commune by merging the entire natural area of 15.79 km2, with a population of 5,130 people from Binh Dinh Bac Commune and the entire natural area of 17.42 km2, with a population of 5,090 people from Binh Dinh Nam Commune. After establishment, Binh Dinh Commune has a natural area of 33.21 km2 and a population of 10,220 people.
Binh Dinh Commune borders Binh Phu Commune, Binh Quy Commune, Binh Tri Commune, and Que Son District;
- Merge the entire natural area of 15.55 km2, with a population of 5,078 people from Binh Chanh Commune into Binh Phu Commune. After merging, Binh Phu Commune has a natural area of 43.74 km2 and a population of 9,736 people.
Binh Phu Commune borders Binh Dinh Commune, Binh Que Commune, Binh Quy Commune, Binh Tri Commune, Binh Trung Commune, and Binh Tu Commune; Phu Ninh District and Tien Phuoc District;
- After reorganization, Thang Binh District has 20 commune-level administrative units, including 19 communes and 01 commune-level town.
(3) Reorganization of the commune-level administrative units in Duy Xuyen District as follows:
- Merge the entire natural area of 12.92 km2, with a population of 5,313 people from Duy Thu Commune into Duy Tan Commune. After merging, Duy Tan Commune has a natural area of 21.56 km2 and a population of 11,658 people.
Duy Tan Commune borders Duy Phu Commune and Duy Hoa Commune; Dai Loc District and Que Son District;
- After reorganization, Duy Xuyen District has 13 commune-level administrative units, including 12 communes and 01 commune-level town.
(4) Reorganization of the commune-level administrative units in Tien Phuoc District as follows:
- Merge the entire natural area of 16.51 km2, with a population of 3,207 people from Tien Cam Commune into Tien Son Commune. After merging, Tien Son Commune has a natural area of 40.11 km2 and a population of 7,382 people.
Tien Son Commune borders Tien Chau Commune, Tien Ha Commune, Tien Phong Commune, and the districts of Hiep Duc, Phu Ninh, Thang Binh;
- After reorganization, Tien Phuoc District has 14 commune-level administrative units, including 13 communes and 01 commune-level town.
(5) Reorganization of the commune-level administrative units in Phu Ninh District as follows:
- Merge the entire natural area of 13.84 km2, with a population of 5,607 people from Tam Vinh Commune into the commune-level town of Phu Thinh. After merging, the commune-level town of Phu Thinh has a natural area of 20.32 km2 and a population of 10,928 people.
The commune-level town of Phu Thinh borders Tam Dan Commune, Tam Dan Commune, Tam Loc Commune, Tam Phuoc Commune, Tam Thai Commune, and Tien Phuoc District;
- After reorganization, Phu Ninh District has 10 commune-level administrative units, including 09 communes and 01 commune-level town.
(6) Reorganization of the commune-level administrative units in Tam Ky City as follows:
- Merge the entire natural area of 0.66 km2, with a population of 5,627 people from Phuoc Hoa Ward into An Xuan Ward. After merging, An Xuan Ward has a natural area of 1.75 km2 and a population of 18,580 people.
An Xuan Ward borders An My Ward, An Phu Ward, An Son Ward, Hoa Huong Ward, Tan Thanh Ward, and Truong Xuan Ward;
- After reorganization, Tam Ky City has 12 commune-level administrative units, including 08 wards and 04 communes.
