On November 14, 2024, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution 1283/NQ-UBTVQH15 regarding the reoganization of district and commune-level administrative units in Ha Tinh province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Reorganization of administrative units in Ha Tinh province from January 01, 2025​

Ha Tinh province's administrative units will be reorganized from January 1, 2025, as follows:

(1) Reoganization of Ha Tinh City, Cam Xuyen District, Loc Ha District, Thach Ha District, and affiliate commune-level administrative units

* Reoganization of Ha Tinh City, Cam Xuyen District, Loc Ha District, and Thach Ha District

- Adjust a portion of the natural area of 138.71 km², with a population size of 81,620 people from Thach Ha District, corresponding to the entire natural area and population size of 11 communes, including Dinh Ban, Tan Lam Huong, Thach Dai, Thach Hai, Thach Hoi, Thach Khe, Thach Lac, Thach Thang, Thach Tri, Thach Van, and Tuong Son, to merge into Ha Tinh City;

- Adjust the entire natural area of 7.42 km², with a population size of 5,687 people of Cam Vinh Commune and the entire natural area of 10.86 km², with a population size of 7,016 people of Cam Binh Commune of Cam Xuyen District to merge into Ha Tinh City;

- Adjust the entire natural area of 6.46 km² and a population size of 9,250 people of Ho Do Commune under Loc Ha District to merge into Ha Tinh City. (**)

* Merge the entire natural area of 110.51 km², with a population size of 96,331 people of Loc Ha District after adjustments as stipulated in (**) into Thach Ha District.

* Reoganization of commune-level administrative units under Ha Tinh City as follows:

- Merge the entire natural area of 2.35 km², with a population size of 12,100 people of Nguyen Du Ward, and adjust a portion of the natural area of 0.07 km², with a population size of 1,000 people of Tran Phu Ward into Bac Ha Ward. After the reoganization, Bac Ha Ward will have a natural area of 3.32 km² and a population size of 29,193 people.

Bac Ha Ward borders Nam Ha Ward, Tan Giang Ward, Thach Trung Ward, Thach Quy Ward, and Tran Phu Ward;

- Merge the entire natural area of 6.26 km², with a population size of 13,971 people of Thach Linh Ward into Tran Phu Ward. After the merger, Tran Phu Ward will have a natural area of 7.25 km² and a population size of 24,791 people.

Tran Phu Ward borders Bac Ha Ward, Ha Huy Tap Ward, Thach Trung Ward, Tan Lam Huong Commune, Thach Dai Commune, and Thach Ha District;

- Establish Thach Hung Ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 4.67 km² and a population size of 7,087 people of Thach Hung Commune.

Thach Hung Ward borders Dong Mon Ward, Thach Quy Ward, and communes Thach Khe, Thach Lac, Tuong Son;

- Establish Thach Trung Ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 6.15 km² and a population size of 17,737 people of Thach Trung Commune;

Thach Trung Ward borders Bac Ha Ward, Thach Ha Ward, Thach Quy Ward, Tran Phu Ward, and Thach Ha District;

- Establish Thach Ha Ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 7.97 km² and a population size of 11,467 people of Thach Ha Commune;

Thach Ha Ward borders Dong Mon Ward, Thach Quy Ward, Thach Trung Ward, Dinh Ban Commune, Ho Do Commune, and Thach Ha District;

- Establish Dong Mon Ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 8.93 km² and a population size of 9,880 people of Dong Mon Commune;

Dong Mon Ward borders Thach Ha Ward, Thach Hung Ward, Thach Quy Ward, Dinh Ban Commune, and Thach Khe Commune.

* After the reoganization:

- Ha Tinh City has a natural area of 220.00 km² and a population size of 266,321 people. It includes 27 commune-level administrative units, comprising 12 wards: Bac Ha, Dai Nai, Dong Mon, Ha Huy Tap, Nam Ha, Tan Giang, Thach Ha, Thach Hung, Thach Trung, Thach Quy, Tran Phu, Van Yen, and 15 communes: Cam Binh, Cam Vinh, Dinh Ban, Ho Do, Tan Lam Huong, Thach Binh, Thach Dai, Thach Hai, Thach Hoi, Thach Khe, Thach Lac, Thach Thang, Thach Tri, Thach Van, Tuong Son.

Ha Tinh City borders Cam Xuyen District, Thach Ha District, and the East Sea;

- Thach Ha District has a natural area of 325.37 km² and a population size of 190,335 people. It includes 22 commune-level administrative units, comprising 20 communes: Binh An, Hong Loc, Ich Hau, Luu Vinh Son, Mai Phu, Nam Dien, Ngoc Son, Phu Luu, Tan Loc, Thach Chau, Thach Kenh, Thach Kim, Thach Lien, Thach Long, Thach My, Thach Ngoc, Thach Son, Thach Xuan, Thinh Loc, Viet Tien, and 02 commune-level towns: Loc Ha, Thach Ha.

Thach Ha District borders Can Loc, Cam Xuyen, Huong Khe, Nghi Xuan Districts, Ha Tinh City, and the East Sea;

- Cam Xuyen District has a natural area of 618.76 km² and a population size of 178,133 people. It includes 21 commune-level administrative units, comprising 19 communes: Cam Due, Cam Duong, Cam Ha, Cam Hung, Cam Lac, Cam Linh, Cam Loc, Cam Minh, Cam My, Cam Nhuong, Cam Quan, Cam Quang, Cam Son, Cam Thach, Cam Thanh, Cam Thinh, Cam Trung, Nam Phuc Thang, Yen Hoa, and 02 commune-level towns: Cam Xuyen, Thien Cam.

Cam Xuyen District borders Huong Khe, Ky Anh, Thach Ha Districts, Ha Tinh City, Quang Binh Province, and the East Sea.

Additionally, Resolution 1283/NQ-UBTVQH15 also reorganizes commune-level administrative units in other districts of Nghe An Province from January 1, 2025.
