Circular 49/2016/TT-BTTTT stipulates the revocation of press cards as follows:
- For cases of press card revocation as stipulated in Clause 6, Article 28 of the Press Law, the Minister of Information and Communications shall issue a decision to revoke the press card.- Within 15 days from the date the decision to revoke the press card is made, the head of the press agency, the head of the agency, or the unit of the person whose press card is revoked shall be responsible for collecting and submitting the revoked press card to the Ministry of Information and Communications.- For cases stipulated in Point b, Clause 6, Article 28 of the Press Law, the Ministry of Information and Communications shall return the revoked press card after receiving:- A written request for the return of the press card from the press agency, agency, or unit of the person whose press card was revoked;- Documents proving that the journalist whose press card was revoked has been suspended from investigation, or the case has been dismissed by the competent authority; a legally effective court judgment or decision declaring that the journalist is not guilty or exempt from criminal liability.
