Regulations on the Operation of Remote Stations for the Meteorological and Hydrological VSAT System

To be specific, the operation and maintenance of the Remote station of the meteorological and hydrological VSAT system are regulated by Circular 14 as follows:

1. Inspection of the Outdoor system of the Remote station:

- Measure and check signal quality and signal strength; check and adjust the elevation angle, azimuth angle of the antenna;- Check and adjust the rotation angle position, eccentricity, and distance of the LNB compared to the signal reflector surface;- Check the upconverter and power amplifier equipment;- Check the pole system, antenna guy wires;- Check the quality of the signal cable connecting the LNB and BUC devices;- Check the direct lightning protection system, the power line surge protection system or equipment, the signal line surge protection device, the grounding system for the antenna, coaxial cable, and power line surge protection device.

2. Operation of the Indoor system of the Remote station:

- Check the power supply system, surge filtering equipment;- Check the connections between system components;- Monitor the status lights of the modem transceiver, the connection and data transmission status between the Remote station and the Hub station, and the transmission parameters;- Operate the server and workstation of the Remote station.

3. Implementation regime:

- The operation and maintenance regime comply with the regulations in points a to e, clause 6, Article 6 of Circular 14;- Monthly reports on the operation and maintenance of the Remote station of the meteorological and hydrological VSAT system must be prepared.
