Regulations on the inspection and preparation of vehicles for funeral services

Circular 166/2018/TT-BQP was issued by the Ministry of National Defense regulating the provision of vehicles for National Funeral and State-level Funeral ceremonies.

To be specific, vehicles serving funeral ceremonies must undergo a quality and safety inspection. The inspection and preparation of vehicles are regulated by Circular 166 as follows:

- Organize a force of drivers, repair technicians, and an augmented inspection team to check the technical condition of the vehicles. If any malfunctions are discovered, find means to promptly rectify them.- Arrange a fleet of vehicles for the funeral ceremony to conduct a test run once, with a round-trip distance of 25 km to 30 km. Any vehicles that exhibit malfunctions during the test run must be repaired and rectified immediately; after rectification, they must undergo another test run. After the test run, a technical condition report for each vehicle must be made.- Develop and rehearse a plan for using spare vehicles if necessary.

See more requirements on the number of vehicles at Circular 166/2018/TT-BQP effective from January 18, 2019.
