At the end of 2016, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment signed and issued Circular 40/2016/TT-BTNMT stipulating the Technical Procedure for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting and Warning under Normal Conditions.
To be specific, the ultra-short-term and short-term maritime forecast and warning require the collection and processing of the following types of information and data:
- Monitoring of marine weather forecast information (monsoon, storm, tropical depression, etc.);- Wind field and pressure forecast data from numerical weather prediction models;- Collection of wind, atmospheric pressure, wave, water level, and current observation data from meteorological marine stations in the forecast area;- Wave and sea current observation data from buoy stations and marine radars in the forecast area;- Wave observation data from active marine vessels in the forecast area;- Wave and current forecast data from other forecast centers both domestically and internationally;- Tidal forecast data for the forecast area;- Preparation of data at open boundaries and river mouths for prediction models;- Evaluation of the completeness and accuracy of collected data and supplementation, correction, standardization of data.
