Regulations on Temporary Registration Plates according to Circular 64/2017/TT-BCA

According to the provisions in Section 8, Appendix 4 issued together with Circular 15/2014/TT-BCA, amended and supplemented by Circular 64/2017/TT-BCA, temporary vehicle registration plates made of paper, with the size of the plate following the aforementioned regulations. In special cases, for vehicles serving political events, conferences, and sports at the request of the Government of Vietnam, temporary registration plates are made of metal, with a blue background and white letters and numbers, with a unique symbol.

* For temporary automobile license plates:

- Long Plate: The first group includes the letter "T" and the local registration symbol. The second group is the registration order, from 000.01 to 999.99. A dash (-) separates the two groups.

- Short Plate:+ Top row includes the letter "T" and the local registration symbol.+ Bottom row is the registration order, from 000.01 to 999.99.

Example: As shown in the license plate illustration H9:

+ T: Temporary registration symbol.

+ 80 indicates the registration place symbol.

+ 235.88 is the registration order number.

- The position of the anti-counterfeiting symbol is as prescribed for domestic automobile license plates.

* For motorcycles with temporary license plates:

- The dimensions are the same as domestic motorcycle license plates.

- The layout of letters and numbers is the same as temporary registration plates (short plate).
