Circular 44/2016/TT-BTNMT was signed and issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on December 26, 2016, stipulating the contents of monitoring the construction of mineral exploration schemes. This is the first Circular detailing this issue.

The implementation of supervision of construction and mineral exploration projects is regulated by Circular 44/2016/TT-BTNMT as follows:

- The General Department of Geology and Minerals of Vietnam and the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE) shall arrange units and individuals to supervise the mineral exploration schemes.- Formulate a supervision plan in accordance with the program and construction plans of the mineral exploration scheme of the organization or individual granted the Exploration License; prepare a Supervision Report.- Supervisory activities shall fully comply with the supervisory principles specified in Clause 2, Article 30 of Decree 158/2016/ND-CP.- Recommend that the competent state management agency review and handle cases where the organization or individual granted the Exploration License violates the contents of the Exploration License or fails to comply with technical standards and regulations.- The units and individuals performing the supervision shall be legally responsible for the results of the supervision.

Refer to the relevant regulations in Circular 44/2016/TT-BTNMT, which takes effect from February 10, 2017.
