On September 29, 2014, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism issued Circular 09/2014/TT-BVHTTDL regulating the protection of state secrets in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism in Vietnam.
Regulations on reporting the state secrets protection in the Culture, Sports and Tourism Sector in Vietnam (Internet image)
Circular 09/2014/TT-BVHTTDL stipulates that annually, agencies and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam must compile and report on the protection of state secrets and submit these reports to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism through the Office of the Ministry for the Ministry to consolidate and report to authorities in accordance with the law. Units must submit reports when the Ministry requests to serve working delegations, inspection, and examination; and submit urgent reports when incidents affect the protection of state secrets. The reporting methods are as follows:
- Periodic report: a comprehensive report on the implementation of secret protection work by the agency or unit, submitted once a year together with the annual work report signed by the head of the agency or unit;- Urgent report: immediate reporting of unexpected incidents that harm state secrets, such as actions that notify, transfer, or disclose state secrets in any form to unauthorized persons; loss or leakage of confidential documents.
Note: The content of the report must fully record the location and time of the incident and promptly take measures for inspection, verification, investigation, recovery, prevention, and limitation of potential harm within the management scope of the agency or unit.
