Regulations on educational and communication activities of museums in Vietnam

This is one of the noteworthy contents of Circular 18/2010/TT-BVHTTDL stipulating the organization and operation of museums, issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam.

Articles 10 and 11 of Circular 18/2010/TT-BVHTTDL regulate these two activities as follows:

1. Educational activities in Vietnam:

- Educational activities of the museum include:

  • Guided tours;
  • Organizing educational programs;
  • Organizing workshops, scientific seminars, and thematic talks;
  • Publishing related to the museum's educational activities.

- The museum's educational program must align with the museum's activity content and its audience.

- The museum's educational program aims to create opportunities and encourage forms of learning and cultural enjoyment by the public.

2. Communication activities in Vietnam:

- Communication activities of the museum include:

  • Introducing the content and activities of the museum through mass media;
  • Organizing promotional programs, developing the public, and private investment in museum operations;
  • Collecting public feedback on museum activities;
  • Building a network of related organizations and individuals to develop museum activities both domestically and internationally.

- The museum's communication activities must align with the scope, target audience, and content of museum activities and comply with relevant legal regulations.
