Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms regulates measures to reduce the demand for tobacco use, measures to control the supply of tobacco, enacted by the National Assembly on June 18, 2012. There are certain locations where smoking is completely prohibited as stipulated in this Law.
To be specific, according to the provisions of Article 11 of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harm 2012, places where smoking is completely prohibited indoors and within the premises include:
- Medical establishments;- Educational establishments, except the establishments specified in point b, clause 2, Article 11;
- Facilities for childcare, nurturing, playing, and entertainment exclusively for children;- Facilities or areas with a high risk of fire and explosion.
Places where smoking is completely prohibited indoors include:
- Workplaces;- Colleges, universities, academies;- Public places, except in the cases specified in clause 1, Article 11, and clause 1, Article 12 of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harm 2012;- Public transportation that is completely prohibited from smoking, including cars, airplanes, and electric trains.
The Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harm 2012 officially took effect on January 01, 2013.
